8 am. Our driver and tour guide will pick you up at your accommodation and then depart for Ben Tre.

It will take about 2 and a half hours to drive to Ben Tre and our first stop is a local market to learn about local daily activities.

We then board our boat to see the brick kiln, where they bake bricks in traditional style. We stopped at a coconut workshop to see the process of making coconut candy.  Continue to see the mats woven the traditional way, by hand. We then enjoy a row in a sampan along the creeks and a fun ride in a local tuk-tuk. Have lunch at a local restaurant.

Experience biking around the local village on Mekong Delta Tour.

After lunch, we will go for a cycling tour along Ben Tre Island. We take the road to Vung Liem, an off-the-beaten-track destination. You will arrive in a small village, and from there, we will walk to the Lodge. We check into a bungalow overlooking the river with rows of water palm trees and from the terrace of your bungalow.  On The way, you will be able to observe boats loaded with coconuts, it’s also a great spot from where you can admire the sunset.

6:30 pm: Cooking class and interaction with locals then stay overnight at the Mekong Lodge.

For early risers, before breakfast, it will be possible to observe and participate in agricultural activities with the farmers. We take a sampan through the water canals until we reach the home of a family. They specialize in making a Vietnamese-like popcorn product made of rice. After that, we will ride our bikes through peaceful green villages. There are houses hidden under the shade of coconut trees and other fruit trees. In this region, reeds are also grown for weaving mats.
We stop for lunch at the Lodge before we leave Vung Liem in the afternoon.

Muniransay Pagoda overview

We drive on a small provincial road stopping to visit a Khmer Pagoda along the way before reaching Can Tho. Hotel for check-in. Overnight in Can Tho.

After breakfast, take a boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), and then visit the Cai Rang floating market, which is the best in the region. We will visit a rice paper workshop and rice husking mill before going on to Chau Doc, then continuing the tour to the wild bird sanctuary in Tra Su and cruising smoothly with small boats deep into the forest to discover the arrays of splendid canals while watching storks, cranes and other tropical birds before we make our way back to town.

Tra Su Bird Sanctuary – Mekong Delta Discovery

You will stay overnight at your hotel in Chau Doc.

After breakfast, we take a boat trip through the floating village and visit the fish farm to see how the Mekong Delta people raise fish from their floating houses, before visiting the Cham minority people to see their traditional clothes and scarf weaving and visit a local mosque.

Then we will go to Sam Mountain, visit Phuoc Dien (Cavern) pagoda, and get a view of a flat rice paddy field between the Vietnamese and Cambodian border before we go on to Long Xuyen city to visit a crocodile farm and have lunch at a restaurant nearby. After lunch, we travel back to Ho Chi Minh City and return you to your accommodation.

Another option: After breakfast, transfer to a speed boat to travel to Phnom Penh (without lunch).
